Flowers have always felt like an extension of my creativity. From the earliest
days of my art journey, they came naturally to me—whether I was sketching them when I was younger or when I started my journey with surface pattern design. But it wasn’t until I started painting with intention that I truly began to notice there was much more
beauty to them.
This realization changed everything.
The Moment It All Clicked: Discovering the Peony Farm
When we moved to Chadds Ford in 2020, I stumbled upon a discovery that would shape my creative journey: a 25-acre peony farm blooming with breathtaking beauty. It was the first time I had ever encountered peonies,(I know can you believe it?!) and I was utterly mesmerized.
Walking through fields such a vast array of colors and varities, I couldn't believe such a flower existed. Some blooms were bigger than my hands! They were unlike anything I’d ever seen, and in that moment, I realized that flowers weren’t just a subject—
they were a story waiting to be told.

Symbolism: More Than What Meets the Eye

I realized that nature could express what words often cannot
My love for flowers deepened as I began to explore their symbolism. This journey started when I was creating my very first product: a Mother's Day Gift Box for the launch of my shop. I wanted the box to be meaningful, so I researched birth flowers and discovered the rich stories and emotions that flowers can convey.
For instance:
Peonies symbolize compassion, healing, and grace
Chrysanthemums symbolize loyalty and devoted love
Daisies symbolizes innocence, maternal love & care
I realized that nature could express what words often cannot—emotions, values, and even aspirations. This revelation became the
foundation of my work, shaping the way I create and share art.
There’s something magical about flowers that makes them endlessly inspiring:
Ephemeral Beauty: Flowers are fleeting. Their short-lived bloom reminds us to treasure the present moment—
a lesson I try to reflect in my art.
Endless Variety: With thousands of species, each flower offers a unique palette of colors, textures, and shapes. From the
structured symmetry of a dahlia to the wild elegance of a protea, they are nature’s masterpieces.
Universal Connection: Flowers speak a universal language. No matter where we come from, we understand their beauty and the emotions they evoke.
Adaptable Symbolism: Flowers can mean different things to different people. A single bloom might symbolize resilience to one person and gratitude to another, making them deeply personal subjects.

How Nature and Art Come Together
As I’ve grown as an artist, flowers have become more than just a subject. They are the heart of my work. Each petal, each curve, each shade carries meaning. My goal is to take the beauty I see in nature and preserve it—translating its grace and symbolism into pieces that inspire others.
Continuing the Journey
Every day, I find new reasons to be inspired by nature’s gifts. Whether it’s the discovery of a new flower or the deeper meaning behind a familiar bloom, I’m reminded that there is always more to learn, explore, and share.
Flowers remind us to pause, to appreciate, and to connect—with ourselves, with each other, and with the world around us. And
through my art, I hope to extend that reminder into your home—a gentle reflection of the beauty and intention
that flowers so effortlessly embody.
